Plants protects from cancer-causing pollution
Plants protects from cancer causing pollution
Plants such as money plants, planted in homes not only provides oxygen but can also be effective in protecting from serious illness like cancer Scientists have succeeded in making changes in the genes of a plant.
Researchers said that today there are many
air filters, which are capable of protecting the pollution particles
inside the house.
But there are some microscopic particles in
the air, which are not possible for these filters to handle. Chloroform
and benzene particles are such pollutants. Chloroform also has a very small
amount of water found in chlorine. By boiling water, chloroform particles
come into the air. Likewise, the carriage of benzene in the garage near
the house is expected to dissolve in the air. Both benzene and chloroform
have been found to be related to cancer. In such a case, the microscopic nature
of the house can prove to be fatal.
Scientists changed the plant Gene.
Researchers
from Washington University of America have made changes in the genus of
Pothos Ivy (money plant like species) to get rid of these microbial
particles. Through this change, scientists activated the 2 E-1 protein. This
protein transforms benzene and chloroform into molecules that help in
plant growth.
